Regarding the bridge: it connects the Mainland to the island of Ré since 1988, this jewel of the Atlantic coast. A length of 2926.5 m, it culminates in 42 metres above sea level: this work of art remains the second-longest bridge in France after the one in Saint-Nazaire. Composed of six viaducts, the bridge of Ré Island has a curved shape.
